July 16, 2026The City of Harlingen, Texas has been recognized as a 2026 All-America City, honoring the power of collaboration to advance economic development, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
A delegation representing the City of Harlingen traveled to Denver to present the partnerships and initiatives that are helping shape the city’s future. Among the organizations representing the community was the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (Harlingen EDC), which showcased programs focused on expanding economic opportunities, strengthening workforce development, and fostering entrepreneurship.
Harlingen’s vibrant small-business community also played a key role in the city’s presentation. Marie Chang, owner of Tora Bakery Co.; Jacob Montalvo, founder of Harlingen Jiu Jitsu Club; and Kelly Cabrera, owner of KK’s Closet, shared how local entrepreneurship continues to strengthen the city’s economy and quality of life.
The delegation proudly highlighted Harlingen’s local products thanks to contributions from Debbie Ramirez and Mario Godinez of Mexican Snacks, as well as Frank Garcia of Bruskees Spices, whose locally made products helped showcase the city’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Adding to Harlingen’s unique identity, local artist Sandro Galicia, founder of Face to Face Art, created the artwork featured in the city’s promotional materials and custom sticker packs used at trade shows and business development events.
This prestigious recognition reflects the shared vision of Harlingen’s public institutions, economic development organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, businesses, and residents, demonstrating how collaboration creates stronger communities and greater economic opportunity.
