Rio South Texas Region Congratulates Rene Xavier Gonzalez, New President of CODEM
August 22, 2025With the goal of strengthening economic integration between South Texas and Central Mexico, the Rio South Texas Region participated in a high-level business meeting with industrial leaders at the Club de Industriales de Queretaro during the Let’s Do Business in Texas event.
During the session, Adam Gonzalez, CEO of COSTEP, emphasized that the organization’s central mission is to build a dynamic binational region that connects Northern Mexico with South Texas, creating bridges for investment, trade, and innovation.
“Our objective is to create direct connections between communities like Queretaro and the Rio South Texas Region. We want business leaders to see firsthand the opportunities of establishing in Texas, while also identifying projects that can strengthen economic growth on both sides of the border,” Gonzalez stated.
Key industries identified for collaboration include aerospace, automotive, electronic, electrics, energy and biomedical. The discussion highlighted the strategic role of Brownsville, Texas, home to SpaceX Starbase, as a point of convergence with Querétaro’s thriving aerospace sector.
Despite global uncertainties and ongoing shifts in trade policy, Rio South Texas Region continues to attract investment projects from Canada, Turkey, Germany, and Japan, reaffirming its position as a secure and competitive destination for international business.
