COSTEP Hosts INDEX Nacional Executive Council Meeting in Rio South Texas Region
February 19, 2026Just moments ago, COSTEP, in collaboration with INDEX Mexico, welcomed Aaron Demerson, President & CEO of the Texas Economic Development Corporation, and Annie Dennis, Deputy Director of Business and Community Development at the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, as part of INDEX Mexico’s national leadership agenda taking place in Rio South Texas Region.
Led nationally by Humberto Martínez of Reynosa, INDEX convened more than 50 Presidents from key industrial cities including Reynosa, Cd. Juárez, Monterrey, Tijuana, and other major manufacturing hubs across Mexico.
The discussion that just concluded underscored a pivotal reality:
Texas and Mexico are not operating in parallel, they are operating in alignment.
At a time of global economic recalibration, today’s dialogue focused on strengthening cross-border coordination, reinforcing supply chain resilience, and ensuring companies on both sides of the border can adapt, pivot, and scale with speed.
Understanding Texas’ strategic role in the global supply chain, and the competitive advantage of border communities like Rio South Texas Region, has never been more critical.
Texas and Mexico don’t just trade together. We compete together on the global stage.
Rio South Texas Region: One Region. Two Countries. One Future.
