COSTEP Celebrates Two TAMIU Milestones in Laredo

COSTEP joined the Texas A&M International University community in Laredo for two milestones during Inauguration Week: the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Western Hemispheric Trade Center Building Extension on September 15 and the investiture of Dr. Christopher Maynard as TAMIU’s seventh president on September 18.

The expanded Western Hemispheric Trade Center reflects the university’s connection to a region shaped by international trade. COSTEP was pleased to attend the ribbon cutting and celebrate TAMIU’s continued investment in its campus and community.

Later in the week, COSTEP attended President Maynard’s investiture, joining the university community in marking the start of this new chapter. TAMIU plays an important role in preparing students, advancing research and creating opportunities across Rio South Texas.

We congratulate President Maynard and the entire TAMIU community on both milestones. COSTEP looks forward to seeing how the university’s work continues to strengthen the region.
