COSTEP Aligns Education with Industry Demand in Rio South Texas Region
March 26, 2026The Council for South Texas Economic Progress (COSTEP) continues strengthening its presence in the conversations that define where companies expand next.
Rick Carrera, Director of Economic Development for COSTEP, successfully concluded his participation at the Site Selectors Guild Spring Conference in Atlanta, one of the most influential gatherings of site selection professionals shaping investment decisions across North America.
Over the course of several days, the conference became a platform for high-value dialogue, insight exchange, and strategic relationship building with the very experts who guide corporate location decisions.
COSTEP’s presence was further strengthened alongside key regional and state partners, including Texas Economic Development Corporation, Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, Greater Brownsville Economic Development Corporation, and Laredo Economic Development Corporation, a clear reflection of the collaborative strength driving the Rio South Texas Region forward.
Beyond reconnecting with leading site selectors and industry professionals, the experience generated what matters most: fresh perspectives, stronger relationships, and actionable ideas that will continue positioning the region as a competitive destination for global investment.
In a landscape where decisions are increasingly strategic, being present at the table is not optional, it’s essential.
Rio South Texas Region: One Region, Two Countries, One Future.
