Rio South Texas Region Engages with Top Site Selectors in Atlanta
March 26, 2026With the goal of strengthening binational collaboration and positioning the region as a strategic hub for the automotive industry, the Council for South Texas Economic Progress (COSTEP) welcomed a delegation from Mexico’s Asociacion Nacional de Proveedores del Sector Automotriz (ANAPSA).
The visit began in McAllen, Texas, where Alberto Bustamante, President of ANAPSA, and key industry representatives were received by Adam Gonzalez, CEO of COSTEP, for a welcome dinner launching a working agenda focused on showcasing the region’s logistics, industrial, and investment potential.
As part of the COSTEP Quick Tour, the delegation conducted a strategic visit to the Port of Brownsville, where Alma Saldaña presented COSTEP’s role in driving regional growth and attracting investment.
Guillermo Rico highlighted the port’s sustained growth, economic impact, and upcoming investment projects, reinforcing its position as a key international trade node.
Regional opportunities were further detailed by Eleazar Rodriguez and Orlando Campos, who presented competitive advantages, incentives, and expansion opportunities across their respective cities.
The delegation, joined by COSTEP, also toured port facilities and visited SpaceX installations, gaining firsthand insight into the region’s advanced infrastructure and innovation ecosystem.
Additional sessions addressed Foreign Trade Zones, permitting processes, business registration, and tariff updates for the automotive and aerospace sectors, providing a comprehensive framework for expansion decision-making.
The ANAPSA delegation included key industry leaders such as Aime Mauries; Gustavo de la Cruz (Gohsyu Mexicana); Yair Macias (Orotex); Alejandro Ramirez (Centro de Servicio Chacmol); Rene Ramírez (Centro Servicios El Jaguar); Cecilio Reyna (Gooseberry Industrial Intelligence); and Pedro Granado (Bezabala).
This visit reinforces the Rio South Texas Region’s role as a strategic binational platform connecting Mexico’s manufacturing strength with the certainty, infrastructure, and market access of the United States.
