June 1, 2026The Rio South Texas Region strengthened its presence on the national commercial real estate stage as Pharr, Weslaco, and Edinburg joined forces at ICSC Las Vegas 2026, the world’s largest gathering for retail and commercial real estate professionals.
Held May 18-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the event brought together more than 25,000 developers, retailers, brokers, investors, and decision-makers focused on expansion, site selection, and new market opportunities.
Together, the three Rio South Texas Region communities showcased the growing strength of South Texas as a strategic destination for retail, commercial, and mixed-use investment.
Their coordinated participation reflected the region’s shared commitment to attracting new projects, strengthening commercial growth, and expanding economic opportunities across the border economy.
Pharr EDC highlighted the city’s unmatched connectivity, international trade advantages, and growing retail momentum, holding strategic meetings with retailers, developers, brokers, and investors seeking expansion opportunities in South Texas.
Edinburg EDC, alongside the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Omar Ochoa, the Edinburg City Council, and local leadership, promoted the city’s long-term vision, rapid growth, and strong market potential through meetings with national commercial real estate leaders.
Weslaco EDC also advanced the region’s commercial positioning by connecting with retailers, developers, brokers, and industry stakeholders to promote new development opportunities and future investment potential within the Rio Grande Valley.
As national retailers and developers continue evaluating high-growth markets connected to trade, logistics, and population expansion, the Rio South Texas Region continues positioning itself as one of the most dynamic commercial growth corridors along the U.S.-Mexico border.
